I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I think that a lot of people have made very good points but isn't this really about ESPN's coverage of our great sport.  I really enjoy reading everybody's opinions on the matter and I think it helps to see other points of view but let's not forget who really needs to know how we feel.  I just sent a comment to ESPN and I would encourage all of you to do the same.  You may not feel that it will make a difference and it might not but it only takes a second to be heard.

Here is the link to the comment page for ESPN television

Way to go :) :)  Now tell me what it is going to take to get our MDNR to do their part, with boat ramps and the such?! :-\'

There's a pretty good chance you won't see any improvement in the DNR's sevice due to the defeat of the license fee increases. As far as BASS goes. Less coverage means less commercial revenues which means less prize money. BYE, BYE

I wouldnt expect much as far as ramp and facilities improvement and honestley michigans facilities are quite nice and affordable compared to alot of other states.
I havent been to half of the lakes in michigan so my oppinion isnt strong but all the ones I have been too have been above average.

Ok, I guess I must be out of the loop.  I didn't hear the license fee initiative lost.  So does that mean our license fees will not increase this year over last year?

Most of the ramps I've been to have been decent.  I can only think of a couple that I've been to that need upgrading.  All in all, they seem pretty good to me.  But I haven't been to all of 'em either.  These are just the ones I frequent.

QuoteI can say that the decline in tournament coverage is just one of the pieces of evidence.

I can't agree with this statement. I can still routinely count on a BASS tournament every (or nearly) Saturday morning. That makes me happy b/c no one else has done this.

We can bash BASS all we want, but the bottom line is they are king of professional fishing. And if it is as bad as its made out to be, 97 of the 102 Elite Series Anglers of last season would not have signed back up for it this year. Selling the Weekend Series is a good and humble move by BASS. They didn't know what they were doing, so they gave it to someone who does. I commend that and thank them for not pulling the plug completely. We expect that circuit to work like BFL overnight; patience people.

In my humble opinion, TBF sold out on BASS. BASS didn't send them to the curb, they asked for an increase in dues ($5, which is 2 gallons of gas). I don't believe a massive corporation such as TBF runs off b/c of $5 increase in dues. Something else was going on. And what TBF came up with came up long after the increase in dues.

Thanks to BASS, fishing has become mainstream. I also don't agree with all they do/say, and their website sucks. But lets be a bit more patient. Throwing away a membership b/c of a bad website or because the University is taking a temporary leave is just a showing of no patience. Imagine BASS if ESPN had not purchased it. What would you know about it? It'd still be the way it was in the 90s. Which was impossible to track. Now, turn on your TV.

I think FLW is great and I think BASS is great. Its just illogical to throw BASS to the wolves when we were all glued to the TV this weekend to see the classic. If they're that bad, why did you watch?
