Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I'm not trying to rush winter. I'm sure some semblance of winter is on the way. That means we are approaching the 2026 Ultimate Sport Show Tour - the three biggest fishing and outdoor sport shows in Michigan!

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

My club is going to fish Pontiac lake this year. Sounds like the Sellings Boat Launch is the way to go. Does anyone have a phone number for John Sellings?

Is it Sellings or Selings? - I've seen it both ways online.

you could IM McCarter or Jason Wilbur on Facebook.   Also you should probably check the DNR site to make sure there are no other events there that day.  You can search on just Pontiac Lake.

Probably should register your event to.

There are already 16 events booked there not counting John's weeknight events.

Pontiac sure is popular... I've barely been on it. I've heard of this 'Selings' ramp (I don't know if it one l or two ll's either??) but never been to it or seen it. Seems like people like to use it.

I know we've had a challenge getting the local MDNR Parks people to open the ramp a little early for our TBF of Michigan Jr. State Championship. I think last year they wanted to charge a pretty hefty price to have someone open up early... forget if Dave Reault ever told me how that worked out? He is going back this year so maybe he's handling it.

As popular as Pontiac Lake is for bass fishing and particularly for bass tournaments, some of think it is a little ridiculous that they don't figure out a way to have the Pontiac State Recreation Area boat ramp open much earlier. I sure was EXTREMELY happy when the big boss at Sleepy Hollow State Park designed the new boat ramp on Lake Ovid with a separate access road that is open 24/7!!! NOW that's modern Customer Service! So, it can happen...

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Pontiac is a great example of the fact that Tournament Fishing doesn't hurt the fishery.  There were just as many tournaments there the last few years. Selling's runs a Thursday night every week and Saturday Mornings a couple days a month.   Used to be around 10 pounds would win.  Now it is up to 12-15 pounds.

We have 2 Tuesday Morning events there this year.  We start at 8 am.  If the park isn't open until 8 we adjust the finish time.  Same thing with Cass lake.  After the last couple years Dismal Results we decided not to go back there this year.
