Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I am looking to add a couple more spinning rods to my gear this year.  I was browsing the Bass Pro website and notice their Pro Qualifier reels are on sale. Has anybody used these reels? Anyone got any pros/cons? Any advice would be great. Thanks

Daiwa Exceler for the same price.  Smooth drag, large diameter ABS spool for fluoro and the digi-gear makes this the smoothest reel I have ever used.  I have nothing against BPS stuff, but I was amazed by this reel last summer, buying 3 more this year and evetually will replace all my spinning reels with them.  If you go to the store and try them out, I guarantee you will not find a smoother reel for less than $130 and that is the next level Daiwa.  The only difference is one extra bearing for double the money.

I have two size 30 bass pro enticer spinning reels.  They have 10 bearings, they are similar to the pfluger presidents.  I was looking to get $30 each or $50 for both shipped.  I got them this summer and they work like new.  I replaced them with some quantums at christmas.  I haven't used this version of the qualifier.

MBell,
Why did you replace the enticers?  Was there something you didnt like about them?

I wasn't as comfortable with the handles as I was with the quantums.  All of my spinning reels are now quantum catalysts.  I have 10 spinning reels on the boat and it felt weird to switch, so I ended up not using them as much.

ok , now i have a question about the bass pro reels with the big spools. are these better for florocarbon and braided lines? just got a st.croix mh and am looking for a reel. made a good haul at the musky club swap meet saturday-around 280.00$. almost bought a shimano reel for 89.00. tell me about these reels- the bass pro ones..thanks .karol

I have a BPS Pro Qualifier bait casting reel that I have had for about a year.  I fished with it all last season and had no problems with it.

I have quantum PTI 10-20-30 reels and I believe they are the smoothest reels out there. The only problem I have had is that this spring in the spool that creates the drag noise fell out of one of them but works the same. They just fit very nicely with the fishing I do.( they look PRETTY too.)
