I have a 1996 200 Mercury EFI and was wondering what is the best 3 blade prop to use? Thanks for the help

TheFishinPollock

Well that all depends on  a few things

Height of motor, RPM you want it to run at , What boat it is on.    The best person I know to ask this of is    21XDC(Mike).

My chioce would be a Fury 25 or a 26 .

Mike is the prop guy

I would say 25 tempest myself
The fury is a aggressive pitched prop (meaning you would run 1 pitch less then a tempest)
So if you ran a fury it would be a 24 pitch

We know the boat is a Viper 188D
is there a jack plate? what's the prop to pad measurement
And what prop are you running now? What's the rpms and speed at WOT

21XDC

The tempest carries a load much better than a fury and will run higher on the jackplate. If your hull is heavy and carry a load, The tempest plus is what I suggest. Pitch depends a lot on the boats capable speed. I would start with a 25P to test.

Thanks for all the help guys. I have a viper 188D with a manual jackplate. I currently have a Power Tech 4 blade prop, and I was running 65mph until I chipped the prop now 62. Not completely sure on RPMs can't really remember. I think I will check out the tempest 24 or 25.

Manxfishing

I do have a spare 25 and 26 tempest that you could try
But you'll need the hub for your motor

Waterfoul

I was with Rick in Missouri when he bought that Power Tech.  I know it's the right pitch for that boat so you're rpm's would be right in the power band (it's listed on the serial number tag on the motor).

I know Rick didn't like the time-to-plane with a 3 blade prop.
