I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

For those of you who haven't already read it on bassmaster.com, the 2015 elite schedule has been announced.  The bassmaster elites will be returning to Lake St. Clair on September 24 - 27.  I am beyond thrilled to see this.  I had such a great time last year when they were here, but after the mediocre crowds, I thought we had very little chance of them returning.
I also think that with their tournament being in late September, the lake will produce the numbers and size they were planning on catching last year.

I realize its over a year before this event happens, but i encourage everyone to start spreading the word about this event now.  Having an elite event in metro Detroit is a great thing for the entire area, and we are very lucky that they are coming back.

C'mon!! I had faith! ;D

Pure Michigan! Everybody wants some!

But Yes! Never too early to start working on the crowds! And the Marshals! And maybe some other people, a Governor, some Legislators. Maybe some other dignitaries... Me too, and you! :)

My bassmaster magazine has a whole insert on Fishing in Michigan and all of the great opportunities we take for granted living in Michigan. Pure Michigan really has done a great job with this and if you aren't aware, our Governor is a big proponent of fishing. He was the one that identified that pure michigan wasn't highlighting our fishing resources.

Yes - that was a great insert! A number of people brought up the lack of enough fishing promotion by Pure Michigan, and the Governor and other Legislators got the message!

The Governor gave a really nice speech about the importance of hunting and fishing for Michigan at the last Michigan Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus breakfast I attended.

MDNR Fisheries Division Chief Jim Dexter gave the most positive and supportive talk about Michigan bass fishing AND bass tournaments I have ever heard from an MDNR person in public at the same meeting. I have his notes to post up as soon as I get a chance to do so. It was great to hear!

Pure Michigan is the place to be!

I marshaled last year...I don't know if I'll do it again but if you have never rode with a pro it is a pretty cool experience...BASS treats you really well also..

I may just follow pros around in my boat next year..
