Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

This is just a friendly warning. I'm in the process of moving my webserver from one facility to another. I don't know exactly when 'the switch' will be thrown yet but it's soon.

Hopefully, the bumpy roads I'm on right now will lead to smooth boating for all of you and you won't really even notice.

At some point I will take the forum into maintenance mode to temporarily stop updates and when you see if shortly after up again you will be on the new server. You may not even see that part since it won't last long if your Internet source picks up the location change quickly.

Once I post the switch will happen, keep a copy of our Contact info in case you find yourself in an extended maintenance period, which will mean something is wrong with your path to the website.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

We are going into maintenance mode on this server soon so there will be no more updates, changes, new posts, edits, personal messages, etc.

Until you 'wake up' sometime tomorrow on the new server. Things will be back up and look like they did before. That's how you'll know you're on the new webserver - when you no longer see maintenance mode on this forum.

Tried to log on this morning and the site was in maintenance mode. Now it's back to normal so I assume the swap went smoothly.

Smooth is not what I will call some of this... but I did the best I could for my part. The 'server people' were more than a little slow. I might have been slightly rude a few times even. Please don't tell my Mom... but I've never liked baloney. Sometimes... when I get baloney from someone I serve them chopped liver right back... ;D

There are probably some poor souls still lost between the two servers and I'm very sorry for that. This was all supposed to be done in one weekend not almost 10 days... I think there's too many chefs in the kitchen now. Or something.

I sure I hope I made the right choice in the long run because I don't want to move servers again for awhile. I'm betting I'm not the only one who feels that way either (sorry!!!).

I don't need spell check myself. I did notice that there are others that do but probably don't use it. So it's probably good to have just in case they have a revelation from the spelling Gods.

It's just not important to some people... I'd rather they post and spell it wrong than not post. Probably drives a few people crazy... I like good spelling. Even good grammar. But getting the post on here is most important in the end.

I also enjoy when someone 'corrects' someone else's bad spelling and misspells a word or uses poor grammar in the process... very entertaining! Can't tell you how many times I've seen that on the web... ;D
