I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Change baitcaster handle

If I change out my Revo S handle to the longer 95mm handle, is there a way to tell how much it would change the gear ratio? The longer hander on my lews cranking reel just feels more comfortable. I'm guessing I would get more spool turns per crank, or does it slow down the speed?

t-bone

I'm thinking that the longer handle will slow down the speed. It will take you longer to make a full crank and that means fewer revolutions on the spool.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Would it change at all? When it's mounted to the axle, would it make any difference how far away the knob is..1 revolution is one revolution? Hunh?  now i'm confused...never mind..

One rev. is one rev.

But it would take more time to make the one rev.
So I'd guess it would fish a little slower then the stock handle

TimH

the gear ratio does not change, but you will definitely get more torque as Dan had mentioned.

t-bone

1 rev is 1 rev - but bigger tires take longer to spin and get less gas mileage. You can't spin the 1 rev as fast as it is a wider diameter. Not going to make that much difference but it obviously won't improve the ratio like you were originally thinking.

Thanks guys, took a few to wrap my head around it. Still might give it a try in a few weeks.
