Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Volunteer schedule for the 2014 Outdoorama. Mikesmiph has generously volunteered to help me keep track of the schedule again. Thanks Mike! I can always count on you! GreatLakesBass.com will be in booth 5767 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The original booth 5715 is being used by the Boy Scouts of America to promote their Hooked on Scouting program in Michigan - www.michiganscouting.org. GreatLakesBass.com is helping them with this excellent youth fishing promotion.

Volunteers who work at least 2 hours will get a free exhibitor pass to the show that is good for the whole show as long as you help at least two hours.

You will get more details in the private volunteers area of the forum. You will be able to see it once I add you to the temporary show group. I need people who can talk to others in an outgoing, friendly fashion about joining the websites - mostly GreatLakesBass.com and GreatLakesIceFishing.com, handing out stuff and just answering general questions about fishing. NO ALCOHOL in the booth. No sales of items not pre-approved by me before the show. We will also be getting petition signatures for Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management - www.citizenswildlife.com.

This is only a 10x10 booth so there's no extra room - please no extra people behind the table who are not on the volunteer list. The schedule can be adjusted some to accommodate people willing to help who can't fit one of the existing time slots. THANK YOU for your HELP!

UPDATED 2/28/2014 (10:12AM): Booth 5767 - Mike Smith has been great in volunteering to help keep the schedule up-to-date so please PM both of us if you have a change or any questions.

I have a seminar from 10:30am until 11:30am Sunday morning on Stage C. I'm covering for Wayne Carpenter who had an injury and won't be able to be at the show at all. I could use someone at the beginning of the show Sunday to help Mike cover the booth.

We could use 1 or 2 for 30 minutes after the show ends Sunday for tearing down and packing the booth into my car. If 1 or 2 of you can help, that would be awesome! All volunteers will be added to the special GLBass Friends group if not already in there. And you will have my eternal thanks and appreciation!

Schedule has been updated.

Good to see people who stopped by. Got a few petition signatures, lots of questions, one new member already signed up on his own and more potential new members. We had a steady crowd all day.

The Boy Scouts of America group did pretty well too. Met Leon Bell and Amos O'Neal. Kim Stricker came by to say hello and we found out Amos is a BIG Hook 'n Look fan! Always glad to see happy anglers!

A big thank you to those of you who helped out at Outdoorama!! I wouldn't be able to get anything important accomplished without your much needed and appreciated help!

We signed up a few new members, got some more critically important petition signatures and answered all kinds of bass fishing, ice fishing and general outdoors questions for lots of people. The show was pretty busy Saturday and very steady to busy Sunday.

There were people who signed up on their own after they visited the booth too. Plus, we helped the Boy Scouts kick of their Michigan cub scout fishing badge recruiting program - Hooked on Scouting! This should be a great new youth fishing recruitment effort good for all of us!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
