Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I sent 4 50Mg reel in to Shimano to be serviced
They have been great reels, Fished hard and never had any problems but they did need a good cleaning

So I boxed them up and sent them off, the 25 bucks seemed a little steep at the time
But I recieved them back today after 2 weeks
And on all the reels they replaced the drive gear, pinion, roller clutch bearing and ball bearing (ARB)
at no additional cost to me.
The 25 bucks a reel seems like a steal now
They still have a few nicks in them. But there like new agian.

Nice!  I was a die-hard Shimano baitcasting reel fan until they pulled, what I consider to be, a fast one with the Curado line about 10 years ago. Your story makes me want to take another look at them again.  It's good to hear about manufacturers who show extra care for their customers. :)

Your not alone. There's allot of folks upset over the "G" models
And they know they lost market share with that swap

But they are coming out with a new Curado and they will be releasing it at the Classic
It's more or less a Ch CI4 version with a Alum frame
Should make up for the "G" Model

The Ci4 is a new frame size (150)
It's a tad smaller then a 50MG but holds more line then the old 100's and is 6.5 oz's
Plus you can adjust the brake on the outside. i picked one up in the fall but haven't used it
There's a chance it could replace my Ch100 D models at some point

The Alum. Curado version should be under 7.5

Got Fish??

Most all of the reels on the market today may be American company's, but they are made over seas. By a company that is contracted by the mother company, to build and manufacture their product. That company may manufacture reels for several brands. Fine and dandy! The problem stems for the length of the contract. Useally after  three years. A new company bids, gets the contract. And replacement parts are no longer available with in 2-3 years after the reel was made.
