Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

After Day 1 on the Okechobee, Tony Defilippo from Lake Ann is in 5th place on the boater side! Also Kim Stricker - 25th, Kevin Vida - 29th, Art Ferguson - 40th, Scott Dobson - 64th, Nate Wellman - 89th, Kevin Long - 147th, Brian Hensley - 165th..

Non-boaters...Rob McMurray from Troy - 3rd place, Trevor Jancasz - 38th, Greg Scott - 61st, Laura Long - 176th, Gerald Antor - T186th

All are from Michigan...The "Mit" is very well represented down at the Big "O"!!

Day 2 results...

Well Kim Stricker climbed to 22nd - won $10,750. , Tony D. dropped to 46th - won $10,000. , & Art Ferguson dropped to 49th - won $10,000. those were the big money winners from Michigan.

On the non-boater side Rob McMurray is in 6th place which gets him through the cut to fish today..he's only about 2 1/2 pounds off the leader.

Chad Grigsby is a Michigan boy, I remember when he blew his motor on Saginaw Bay in a BFl, 45 minutes of idle and boom, as soon as he throttled up. He wasn't very happy!
