I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I think I might have an addiction

This weekend I am throwing a bachelor party for my buddy who is getting married at the end of the month.  I have a good group of friends attending, and we are all heading down to Cleveland Saturday afternoon.  The plan is to have dinner at a very nice Brazilian Steakhouse, go to the Great Lakes Brewing Company for some beers, and then hit some other bars in the area.  Sunday we are heading to the Browns Vs. Lions game.
Now in theory, it sounds like a great weekend and I am really looking forward to it.  However, all I keep thinking is, "darn it, I'm missing a lot of fall fishing time."  I've even considered taking my boat with me so I can hit Erie Sunday morning for a few hours before the Lions game, but the place we are staying doesn't really have trailer friendly parking.
I'm starting to think that bass fishing might be an addiction to me if I can't even have a great weekend like that without thinking about how badly I want to be fishing.... Oh well, I guess there are plenty of other worse addictions to have! ;D :D

gmetime24

Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned! The addiction is real and your definitely not the only one, sometimes I head to a local river just to cast out my line for 20 minutes or so. Bass fishing is the best addiction you could have!

Welcome to the club.  I work to fish.  My wife doesn't understand this some times though.... I keep telling her she needs to fish more!
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

Mcfish

I was the best man in my Brother in laws wedding.  We went to the west end of the U.P. and fished smallmouth for four days in the Sylvania Wilderness for his bachelor party.  To this day it's still the best bachelor party I've ever attended.

We did manage to spend one evening in Eagle River, Wisconsin at a place called Weasels watching dancing girls.   ;D

Maybe a 4/6 hour charter chasing smallies could be arranged for your party.

djkimmel

I would have skipped the weasels and fished a few more hours!! Then... you have a PERFECT bachelor party!!!! ;D

I got married in mid-January and wasn't ice fishing at the time. No bachelor party. I think we may have gone somewhere and talked about fishing?? Don't recall.

Welcome to 'the club!' ;D

She's not your wife til this Saturday !!!!!   Congrats !!!!!!   ;D

Well, the bachelor party went really well.  We got into Cleveland around 6:00PM Saturday, and headed to dinner at Brasa Grill.  It's a Brazilian steakhouse that is a "must go" if you are ever in Cleveland.  Having never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, I did not know what to expect.  It's basically a full service, all you can eat parade of meats.  I guarantee PETA would hate this place, but I loved it.  It starts with one server coming by with sirloin, then another server with rack of lamb, then pork loin, then fillet, then bacon wrapped fillet,  then Cajun sausage, then bacon wrapped turkey, then chicken, then the pork loin guy came back, then parmesan encrusted fillet, then the sirloin guy came back again.  It was unreal!  Considering all of us ate until we had the "meat sweats", it's not too bad on the price at $40 a person.  However, as I paid for dinner, I did think about how many jerk baits I could have bought with that money. :D
After dinner we went to the Great Lakes Brewing Company which is another place that if you get the chance, go.  I had their "Edmund Fitzgerald" beer.  It's a very dark porter, but man is it good.  We stayed there until the Michigan game was over and then headed to Market Garden Brewery.  It's a cool place, but not as good as Great Lakes.  We stayed at Market Garden Brewery until the Tigers game was over, and we headed to the Casino.
At the Casino, most of us, including me had good luck at three card poker.  After only three hands, I had doubled my initial $60, so I cashed out.  My winnings are set aside for a new Pro Qualifier baitcaster! ;)  As we were leaving the Casino, I look over and see former Detroit Lion Lomas Brown standing there, so we all went over and talked to him and got pictures.  He is a real class act, very friendly guy.
After leaving the casino, we starting walking down the street and much to our surprise, found that Cleveland has a Tilted Kilt!  We stayed at the Tilted Kilt until they closed and then took a cab back to our hotel.
Sunday we headed to Cleveland Browns stadium and watched a good Lions victory!  The Lions win made walking out of the stadium a lot nicer than the harassment we took on the way in from Brown's fans.  All in all, I found most Browns fans to be nice.  Several of them actually stopped us on the way out to say "good game" and thanked us for coming down to Cleveland.
In the end, it was a great weekend...but I really can't wait until this weekend when I get back out on St. Clair!

Wow! Sounds like the next best thing to a day of fishing Lake St. Clair!

I went to a restaurant like that in Manaus, Brazil and it was pretty amazing - some more exotic meats and mystery food to try there too. I have heard there might be a restaurant like that somewhere in Michigan - maybe Kalamazaoo area? I will have to check it out one of these days.

Dan,

There is a place in Detroit called Texas de Brazil, but from what I have heard it runs closer to $60 or $70 per person. There might be others around the state, but this is the only one in Michigan I know of.

Got Fish??

That's what I call 'a little out of my budget'... I had heard there was a place near Kalamazoo but now that I think about it I may recall a change in the past year or two on that one?
