I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I have a Lowrance HDS-8 (Gen 1 I believe)

I have my navionics premium chip in it...

How do I shade specific depths?  This sucker only wants to let me pick from 7, 16, 33 ft... very weird...  Hoping somebody can help me here.  I've always been an HB guy.

Thanks!

Bout time you get a real graph! I think you can only use this feature on Gen 2 Units but it's worth a try.  Have you done all the updates to the unit that the Lowrance site offers.  Might want to do this first.

Lowrance Depth Shading
To display map shading:
* Press MENU.
* Select Chart Options and press ENTER.
* Select Shading and press ENTER to enable/disable shading.

Lol i will try updating. It does give me that option but then when i have to select my safety depth it only gives me the options i listed 7 16 33 etc.

Has anybody got a solution to get 1 ft. contours on a Lowrance HDS 8 Gen 1?  My unit is updated and it will not allow me to shade depths in 1 ft. increments as this same chip did on my HB... Also cannot click on the fish n chip tab for some reason.  I don't care what chip I have to buy for this dang thing but I need one foot contours and depth shading capability.  Somebody please help or this frickin thing is for sale if I can't have 1 ft. contours...
