Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

A-rig chillin'...Big Hammer killin'

Found nice schoold of smallies today and couldn't make em eat the A-rig, but they sure were tearin' up the 3 and 4 inch Big Hammer!  What a beautiful day on St. Clair.  White bass everywhere in giant wolf packs.

Nice. Like I said before, I might hang mine on the Christmas tree.  But, it's probably too heavy to even be good for that.

Actually caught a largemouth on a finesse sized a-rig last week. Had a pike chase it too.  Going to play with fire and fish it around more vegetation because that seemed to be the key for me.

Instead of Christmas ornaments, mail them to me here in Illinois.  The lake I'm working on has a ton of gizzard shad, and the largies and Whipers school them in open water just off the shore.  The jerkbait has been working but they throw the hooks too easy some days.  I'll put your bama rigs to use and show you how they work!

Caught a 25" pike on my money-minnow laden u-rig tues. after work on Wolverine. First u-rig fish. I've only thrown it for about an hour total so far this year.  later...
