Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Anybody dropshot with a casting rod. I always dropshot with spinning rod but thought about having 2 rods ready to go and thought about a casting one. I probably just need one rod but was thinking about it. Thanks for any comments.

My first drop shot rod was a casting one with a Calcutta 50 reel on it. I didn't care for it too much, but if you were dropping straight down then it was easier. Other than that I don't remember any advantages and it didn't "feel" right so I sold the reel. I prefer very small line and it doesn't seem to work as well on a casting reel.

There are some nice, smaller, light casting reels with very tight tolerances that can handle lighter line. I have tried it off and on. Sometimes, the reduced torque and twist of a casting reeling is nice for just about any technique.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

A casting rod works. just comes down to what feels best for you

I tie 2 or 3 DS rods
Just so that I don't have to re tie when I find the pike

I have one for "power shotting."  Heavier weights and such.  But I run 15 lb Power Pro braid with a floro leader so casting it with even a 1/4 oz is no problem.  Used a Shimano Curado reel on a Shimano Crucial Rod.  But this rod serves several purposes... shakey head, smaller jigs, etc.  I much prefer my spinning set up.  I have 2 of them tied up in the boat.

Key word "self proclaimed" Jk!  I can say I was taught by the "best drop shotter in Michigan."  That's gotta be good for something! :-\'

Waterfoul

I have to stop teaching people how to drop shot.  Don't want to get beat at my own game!  LOL!!
