Before clean up front yard tree and wires
Add New Note

Description: This is what we woke up too early Sunday morning, December 22, 2013 in our front yard. Well... we didn't really wake up to it. We from about 4am on listening to branches snap and come crashing down! It was amazing and freaky, going on for hours. And really, it continued for a few days as branches would still come crashing down every so often. At night, you'd wonder it this one would hit the house, or whose house, property or wires might be damaged anew. Being super tired and needing a CPAP to breath at night, a 4:30am power outage is not cool. I repeat... not cool. My poor wife was awake and suffering the full affect of the night awhile before I was alert enough to figure out what was going on. A big chunk of the old maple in the middle of our front yard took out our power wires, the cable (we don't use) and Internet/phone wires, and yanked our mast/meter and network interface box off the side of the house. The power mast was bent straight out towards the road. The network interface box smashed into many pieces. The power wires were not hot as we had multiple transformers blow, and multiple down main wires throughout our street and grid. My wife said it was like a round lightning storm all night and into the morning as things flashed when they blew or snapped.
