Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Yeah I'll be there, Friday...good seminar line up.  its always a good show, but the seminars are the thing I like most.  Wayne will have his products there, last year he had an awesome display and amount of product, I'm sure he will have even more this year...he was at the last MBF presidents meeting promoting the show so I know he is ready...

im bummin this year.  I was really looking foward to working this event again this year but with the whole Compass Pointe Marina thing going down, i wont be sellin boats this year.

Then i convinced a lure maker in Alabama to come up and work the show with me to sell his stuff, but he just backed out the other day and is now going to a show in Texas with some pretty little WBT pro.

I will be at the show, probably all 4 days......sigh........but only as a spectator.  But its still cool to catch up with everyone and look at all the cool junk they have there.

PoorBoy himself :-\'

I'll be there.  Not sure which day(s) but I'll be there.

Bummer PoorBoy.

You can come over and visit at the Xtreme Bass Tackle/Combat Fishing booth whenever you run out of other anglers to talk to.

Don't know my schedule yet - Wayne usually has lots of help at Novi - but I can't stay away the whole time from a big fishing show, especially one fairly early in the loonngg, cooolllddd Michigan winter. I will probably be over during the weekend unless Wayne gives the call to the bullpen...

Hope to run into a bunch of you over there...

don't you ever sleep... my mom won't let me stay up that late...

i need to go to novi to get a fix.   even just to smell some fiberglass.. i hate looking at this ice.. not even any brave or dumb fishermen to watch..

djkimmel

Man - I was getting my fix - last night. I need constant doses somehow from somewhere...

I just noticed that I may be planning on being 3 places at one time...

It really helps when you put ALL your activities on one calendar. The 15th is my anniversary (getting married in the winter doesn't interfere with fishing...) AND I have a family get-together on either the 15th or 14th too. I thought I had that nailed down, but they told me Saturday the 15th and Saturday is not the 15th.

So now, I don't know when (or if) I'll be at Novi. Guess I better check with Wayne... and the boss (read wife)... and the family... I wonder who else I'm forgetting???

WayneC

Definitely looking forward to this time around.  If you didn't go last year: at times...it was just like the old days with shoulder to shoulder traffic through the isles.  This success has attracted more vendors and some high profile seminar speakers too.

FYI - I'm repping for ShowSpan this year.

Here is their site which can update you on all of the shows, dates and seminars:

See you there!

djkimmel

Hi Wayne!

The shows are also all on the Calendar and in calendar events with links directly to each individual shows link.

Looks as if they are going to have a lot of stuff going on there this year.  Should be a good time.

Thanks h2o.

I hope the booth I work at is right near one of those cheeseburgers (it's lunch time...)

It seems like there's going to be a lot of us going to the show.
In my own mind, I know what it is I would like to say, I just don't know if I'll be able to
get it across right.

But it seems like we should all get together at this show to somehow represent Dan and the members
of this site.

Why? I don't know... maybe someone will take some notice...
Maybe Dan will get some recognition that's so well deserved.
Or... maybe some free swag to give out on some new contests.

Anybody kind of know what I mean?

Any suggestions?

How about a DK reunion? of some sorts.

djkimmel

Thanks emeryj.

I have some family things going on so I don't know exactly when I'll be there yet. Regardless if organized or not, I hope we run into each other there. When I do get over, I'll be visiting some of the Ranger dealers and other booths, and of course, hanging out with Wayne Carpenter at his Xtreme Bass Tackle booth. No seminars unfortunately, but that won't stop us from talking fishing.

I should have some handouts for the forum and website to get the word out. If you have a booth you want to host some at, let me know and I'll get some to you.

As soon as I know my schedule, I'll post it. I hope you can get together as much as possible. We had fun at the DK Open in September. If we can get more together another way now, great!

If I don't see you at the Novi show, I know I'll be at Lansing doing a few Casting Kids with my club.
I'm sure I'll see you at the extreme booth.
I met you at there three years ago, and I was very impressed as busy as the show was, you took more time
to talk to me than anybody else did.
What was even more impressive, was the next year when I returned, you seemed to remember my face, and spent even more time talking to me.
That's the whole reason I even signed up here.
I'll make it a point to get in contact with you.
I'll even try to remember to bring some of the soft plastics I've been making and give you some to hand out for contests or the next DK open.

Take care,

Josh
