Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I had my first ice fishing report. A neighbor up at my cabin went out on our lake. He went with two others and took a rope. They had two inches of ice and was very nervous about being out. He didn't go out Friday because of the warm up. He's going to wait for some more cold weather. Caught some 10 inch bass, which on our lake are legal. DNR are trying to get the predator prey balance back in order on our lake. Lots of little fish, very few legal bass. The lake had largemouth bass virus.  He says he prefers the small bass to bluegill for table fare.

I take M13 through Saginaw on my way to one of my projects in Bay City. I noticed the first shanty of the year on the river just below the Zilwalkee bridge today.

There were a couple of shantys on Whitmore a week or so ago.  I don't know if  they are still there.  Saw them from the E way.  They were out in front of the Marina/ski area.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

there are 2 guys sitting on buckets on the dropoff in front of my house.   they have been there 3 hours and I don't think they have caught a fish.  They may be sleeping.

Was up at a small lake near Houghton Lake last week and found a shanty-load of gills unfortunately not many big ones but they kept the kids busy. Got a couple medium pike on tipups. It was a fun first time out. The ice was about 7-8ins deep.
I love ice fishing with my Vexilar - it makes all the difference in the world.
