Just wanted to let you know I bought the Deka 31 Batteries a few months ago.  I had went through the other battery line-ups and so far, the Deka's are really "stout" and put them to the ultimate test on Lake Erie about 3 weeks ago.  They really performed in the Lake Erie "winds" and Lake Chickamauga "current!"

Great Battery...Thanks for the recommendation!

You are very welcome. Since I switched to Deka Batteries ZERO ISSUES. Zero. How many things can us big water anglers say that about (especially after about 7 years of Great Lakes use)?

If he bought the flooded cell - what I use after discussing my specific situation with the battery experts here in Lansing, they are not totally maintenance free though I have almost never had to add water. I check them once in a while. I have had wet 'maintenance free' batteries from other companies in the past that I had to pry the caps off and add water too after being told I would never have to do that (found out once the hard way at the worst possible time that maintenance free with wet cell doesn't necessarily mean all the time in all conditions... urrggh, pays to get to know good battery people if you fish a lot and your time is valuable to you).

Deka also sells the AGM and Gel batteries. Just depends on your situation and how you use your batteries. I may get Gel batteries if I can ever get to a 4 battery system.

Just FYI... the batteries for sale at your local West Marine are DEKA batteries.  My delivery driver just left!  So as you can guess... I also have DEKA batteries in my boat.  A pair of group 27 deep cycles powers my Fortrex and I have no complaints after 2 years of service.  I fish a LOT, so my batteries get worked a LOT.  If there is any good test for batteries it's how many times you can drain them and recharge them without issue... and mine are doing great.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

I agree Deka Batteries are outstanding.  I don't want to jinx myself, but I have used the same ones for four years now without any problems.  I run a 107lb MK and have never run out of power at the end of the day.

You won't jinx yourself. The 'no worry' battery!

Perfect battery with a Stealth charging system. Go for a lot of days without plugging in if you don't want to.

Have been using the West Marine Batteries for years now.

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.
