Along with the spring championships NBAA has announced it will have a fourth championship in the Fall.

In 2010 NBAA will add another National Championship to our schedule – The Fall Classic.

Details are below for the "NEW" Fall Classic:

Dates:

                Registration – Friday, October 1, 2010

                Day 1 Competition – Saturday, October 2, 2010

                Day 2 Final Day – Sunday, October 3, 2010

(Combined weight, 2-day event)

Location – Kentucky/Barkley Lakes

Ramp – Kentucky Dam Marina

Entry Fee - $100, optional pots will be available.

Qualification rules for this event:

·         Eligibility for "Fall Classic" qualification will be based on participation in the division fished; Overtime events are 10 out of 12, Weekend Challenge events are 4 out of 5. This means for the Fall Classic that eligibility will not be based on a percentage but how many events an angler/team fishes in one division.  A team can now fish 4 out of 5 events in a weekend division, or 10 out of 12 in an overtime division, not catch a fish and make the Fall Classic.

·         The Fall Classic rules apply to ONLY the Fall Classic.  To make the National Championship in the spring you'll still need to finish in the top 30% and follow the existing rules.

·         Keep in mind, all NBAA rules will apply to the Fall Classic.

Some of you may ask why is NBAA adding on this new Fall Classic.  The simple answer is growth and options.  With NBAA's growth in the past couple of seasons and suggestions from you and our membership.  Adding on a Fall Classic seemed like a natural thing to do.  And I think most of you will agree Kentucky/Barkley Lakes is a great place to go.

Not sure what the first place prize is yet but Im sure they will announce that soon. As more details are finalized they will be put up on the NBAA website.

When you are in any contest you should work as if there whereto the very last minute a chance to loose it.

Very cool but that is the same weekend as Lake Drive Classic.  Oh well!  Thanks for the update Don!

Yeah a little disappointing for me also but I guess there are only so many weekends, besides that's starting to cut into bowhunting. ;D ;D

How and the world can you say that? This is just awesome news, now you can fish 5 championships in one organization if you can qualify. Thats at least 4 boats and probably 5 because how else could you have another championship without another boat? But I guess we will have to wait to find that out. Three championships in the spring, one in the summer, one in the fall I guess mom was right you sure cant please everyone.  :-\' :-\' ???
