im going to a local lake with river running thro it and was wondering what to use? the water is somewhat clear to stained. ive fished lakes like it last week and all we caught 5 of them on was a white spinnerbait slow rolling it. there are lots of boat docks and grass on this lake, ive fished in the summer and did ok with senkos but dont kno if they will work now. any tips on what to use?

Senkos /stick worms should still be good. I like slow-rolling spinnerbaits in the fall too. Crankbaits and current good especially well together though. Even in cold weather. Maybe especially in cold water.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

This time of year I got 4 baits tied on, a jerkbait, jig, bladebait, and a jigging spoon.
FISH HARD!!!

thanks guys, the lake is secord lake in gladwin.  my friend and i went to wixom and caught them on a spinnerbait slow rolling it but didnt live up to the lakes potential. so i was just wondering if secord would be any different in the baits we would fish. ya we had all of thos baits tied on xcept of the jigging spoon.  since the weather has been so weird this year, has the fall feeding freenze been over? cuz it seems like they have stocked up and now r starting to move out. how deep should the fish be right now? the only fish we found were on really steep drop offs about 8ft. down in channels that come off the main lake. and only could get bites if the was super clear. any murkyness and not a thing.  any other advice?

This has been a challenging year. I love Secord Lake, but haven't been there in quite a while. Pretty much only fished in late September to mid-October. Slow-rolling white spinnerbaits, and flipping and swimming white jig and pigs up the main river arms was always my best and favorite way to fish it. Some very nice sized bass in the past.

10 AM until about 1 PM always seemed to be the best time for me fishing there in the fall. I knew someone who had a really good early morning spot, but it is still his secret ;D

Most of my fish came in 1 to 8 feet of water around wood, though we got a few from slight deeper weeds on crankbaits (guess what color? ;D ). Other baits work for other anglers. Those were just my favorites up there.
