I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Anyone fish Loon Lake in Waterford?  Any basic info like what to fish for?  Large or Smallmouth?  Fishing a tourney there tomorrow and have never been there.  Thanks.  PM me if you have detailed info

That used to be one of the two lakes I could call "home water" but could never really solve the puzzle from mid-summer through fall.  My best smallie (opening day) was 4.2 lbs. and 2-3 lb. largemouth were available on morning topwater.

You have some choices...I'm guessing this is an evening tournament so there wouldn't be much time to travel to the other lakes so I'll focus on Loon.

I've had mixed results on docks.  There are super deep docks along Dixie Hwy. and across the lake there are shallower docks with a lot of sand around them with a deep pocket at the point about mid-way in the lake.  If you pull off of that point there is an attractive trough that runs parallel to shore that always holds fish.

One of the better late day spots has been the break that runs from the launch and away from Dixie.  The best action I've seen here has been on wacky rigged X-worms (or Senko's).  Bass will rise on these often so the trick is to get the size and color right for that day.

If you are there early enough or late enough, topwater has always been the great equalizer.  A pop-R style bait has drawn the most action for me.

Loon is one of the most diverse inland lakes around.  It has current coming in and going out.  It has wood, rock, sand, pads, slow drops, steep drops, deep flats, shallow flats, a visible island, a sunken island and a variety of weed growth along with access to other lakes with more options.   Catch a few for me while you're there.
