I got an old pickup camper that has developed a roof leak. I've caulked but still doesn't seem to have taken care of it. Anybody know of any product to paint on the roof to coat it?

Thanks

You could probably use a spray on or roll on bed liner, like they use in pickups.  I have seen this used in boats before and it seals them up as water tight as a duck's butt.

Where I work we use a product called Manus-Bond Sealcoat. It is specifically made to seal roof seams on trailers. Every trailer we build gets a coat right over the rivet line where we fasten the roof skin to the top rail. We get ours through a company called New Life in Grand Rapids. Any place that sells or services RVs might carry it or a similiar product.

It is easy to use, just follow the directions on the can.

Be sure to check around the roof vent, the roof hvac and any other place where a fastener or any other piece of hardware penetrates the roof. It works for us, it should work for you.

Couple of good suggestions. I have an intermittent leak in my camper roof corner too from my friend trying to go under a branch that didn't cooperate.

My neighbor recently fixed up my old pickup camper putting on a new liner roof of some type he found on the Internet. That was to redo the whole roof although you can apparently do smaller parts too.

If you try something, give us an update. I may need a couple options in the end to fix mine once and for all.

Thanks guys, I'll keep in touch. Also, DK my teardropbass.com sight seems to have been targeted with a virus. I wonder if there isn't some concerted effort to affect hunting and fishing sights from animal rights groups or something. Just recently started having some problems.

I have not heard of a targeted effort by the anti groups (though I've wondered if they would ever try that), but there is pretty much a daily... hourly effort to spam and hack web sites by a whole lot of people. There's no choice but to always stay on top of security / updates when it comes to web sites.

Depending on who you have your web site hosted with, they may be willing to help you identify any possible problem and maybe fix it. Some will and some won't.

Could be something else too though, not necessarily a virus.

We have taken some steps to avoid problems and lately things have been okay.
