Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

OR......the NBAA, knowing that the problem exists and anticipating the need, could hire a temporary worker for the first week to enter the data !!!!! WOW ...Why didn't I think of that ..oh wait I did. Seems pretty simple, THERE I SAID IT. Is this a business or a non-profit organization?

I think we are all kind of spoiled by the way FLW Outdoors is run. However they mostly have all their registrations done beforehand. Not too many people showing up for tournaments that aren't signed up already.
Maybe if the Tournament Directors could do the data input it might speed things up.

Wow - I upgrade my computer and am away for a little bit and the nest wakes up ???.

The system is what it is ... there can always be changes and there have been a ton over the years since the first system was put on line.  Changes happen because they are good for everyone - not just because one or a few think something is stupid.

I agree that allowing people to review previous year results is something that should be added.  But, what about looking at that info for the 11 months that data is visible.

Oh ... about not having archives .... come on - give us some credit.  We're not mac users here - we can think out of the box ;D.  The system has ALL the data for over 5 years of tournaments.  We just make the current year "active" to not bog down the system.

I will get with Jim and Jack to see how they want to proceed and you will probably see a "history" section added real soon.

Everything evolves - for a reason ... give it a chance and be constructive with your requests.  Honey attracts more bees than vinegar.

Trust me they have more than one person working on this at a time. Remember 7 minutes per membership, Still takes forever. Besides Genie is working on all of our problems and they will all be taken care of in the near future. ;D ;D
When you are in any contest you should work as if there whereto the very last minute a chance to loose it.

I'm feeling much better now. I'm very much Pro-NBAA, I tell a lot of people to come check them out, and I'm 98% happy with what I get back from my nominal expenses. My last post was an attempt at humor, somewhat. But I do feel there's room to improve in this area, as far as the results being updated in a timely manner. Yes those of us who have learned to trust the system understand how it works, but people coming in new, trying the NBAA for the first time can get confused, and become alienated and not return. First impressions are everything, even in fishing.
I agree though the website is great and Genie does a great job, I'm sure they will work through this , IMO
