I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I'm sure many of you have already heard rumors about this, but at the President's Meeting last Sunday, we were able to announce that it is official and the Michigan BASS Federation has in fact won a Toyota Truck. We wanted to wait until the presidents meeting to make the official announcement. We increased membership numbers more than 40% to accomplish this goal. I sit on the board of directors, and I would like to personally thank Paul Sacks for his dedication to the Michigan BASS Federation in helping make this happen. Obviously, thanks also have to go out to club presidents, youth directors, and membership directors without whose help this could never have happened. We are planning to sell raffle tickets on the truck. We are currently working with the state of Michigan to get the raffle license. The tickets will be $5 each and one dollar of each ticket sold will be returned to the clubs.

I created the B.A.S.S. board for all BASS-related information from pro-level to federation nation mostly for tournament information under the Tournaments section below. It's fine to have general news like this posted in the general discussion board too.

Posting information in the  B.A.S.S. board may make it easier for people looking for information specific to BASS and federation nation to find it, but I expect that would mostly be tournaments-related.

Congratulations Tom. We need to get all the bass anglers into Michigan into a federation. We have plenty to do yet and anglers (hunters too) need to be counted.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
