Anybody want to fish the Portage chain for a while tomorrow? I'm not sure how bad the wind will be but I would like to get out there sometime between 8 and 9. Just looking for somebody to ride along since I'll be there anyway.

Chris,
I saw your post too late this morning. Who wouldn't want to be out in 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50mph ;D

It was windy! I got out there around 11 and stayed through thunderstorms and high winds until 5. I fished Big Portage, Little Portage, Base Line, and Tamarack. At times the only thing I could throw was a spinnerbait because it the winds were so strong. I tired drop shotting, but ended up with a 1/2 oz. weight and could barely keep it on the bottom! Maybe I should have broken out the my big 1 oz. ones! Ended up with 3 largemouth, that was a lot of tough fishing for those fish and they all were in one spot and came in 5 minutes.
I did get to see a sailboat capsize. As soon as I tied my stuff down to go help they had righted the boat somehow. Also saw one guy superman off of one of those kite surfing board things when he tried to turn. You should have heard him hollar! Otherwise be glad you didn't go.

You get the GreatLakesBass.com 'tough guy (angler) of the week' award!!! No prize. Sorry. But undying admiration... :D

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
