headed out real early from the spillway intending the fish deep for bass around the channels. Weather man said light wind, he was wrong. It was blowing pretty good out there so I headed up the river. Caught 12 with mostly big smallmouth and a few largies. My best 5 over 20lbs. Drop shot, Ned rig, and a twin tall on a jighead caught everything even a surprise walleye off a sea wall for dinner.

Like normal, most of the smallmouth were right off the channel edge in slack water. Used a variety of baits with the drop shot but green pumpkin (shocker) was the color for the ned rig and the twin tail. Not one bite on the jerkbait or swimbait.

Water temps were 75-77 in the lake and 73 in the river.

Sounds similar to our couple of experiences out there around that time. Glad you found a few good ones to double the rod over!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
