I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Sunday was a great day of Fishing. Started the day off fishing a small friendly tournament on Tipsico, 3 boats and 3.5 hours to fish for a whopping prize of 30 bucks! The fishing was tough as the lake has been severly weed killed but Chris (Bender) and I were able to scratch out a limit and claim the winnings! I think we had 13 something with 2nd having 8 something, nice job McCarter and partner. After leaving Tipsico Chris and I decided we werent done fishing so we headed to Woodland. We proceeded to continuiouly catch fish the rest of the afternoon, all the while dodging Pontoons, ski boats, jet ski's and trying to pay attention to our fishing line and not the bikini clad women. I lost track of how many fish I caught throughout the day, all my fish came on the Nemisis stick bait in Green Pumpkin, and a couple on the KLK color.

On to the ER portion....  Around 4pm I caught a nice fat keeper and as I was un-hooking it the fish squirmed and I dropped it, luckily the way it fell my foot was there to cushion it. It fell in such a way that its spiny dorsal fin and my big toe met perfectly. In went the spine breaking off inside and over the side of the boat went the fish. Let me tell you this does not feel so good... I could feel the spine inside but couldnt get to it to pull it out. We fished for a little while longer then called it quits. On the way home it was starting to hurt a little more and I debated as to wether or not I should try to perform surgery on it myself or have a Doctor get it, good thing I choose the Doctor because after an hour in the ER my toe numbed and Tetanus shot they finally sliced open my toe and removed the spine.

A word of caution when fishing in Sandals never hold the fish directly over your foot.  ;D

That is a great story...Sounds like something that would happen to me..Steel toed boots from now on .. ;D

Bad luck...nice tan lines.  Do you get the question, "Is that dirt or tan lines?", I do.  I will be extra careful from now on.

A picture of my feet would blend into the white background of the forum perfectly...

I think that bass tried to kill you!!! :o

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I got finned getting fish out of the livewell. It bled, but I didn't think much of it. It swelled up some, but healed and always was tender even months later. At times though, if I hit it just right, it was painful. I saw the family doc twice and mentioned it. You could tell where it was because of a small bump. He injected it once and said it would dissolve. It never did. After two years, I went to a surgeon who specialized on the hand and wrist and he numbed it and took out two pieces of spine. It's now healed and no pain.

yikes thats a big looking spine, no sandals EVER for me!

Thats just a little payback, I'll bet that fish went back to his buddies giving "high fives"! I've never been finned by a largemouth, but those smallies, I can't get them out of the livewell without getting finned at least 6 or 8 times.

Bender

Glad you went to the doctor and got that out. At first when it happened I thought it just stuck you and pulled out or just went in a little but then when you were bleeding from the top AND bottom of your toe it looked pretty bad. I can see why you dropped him, just too tired of holding fish! I know my wrist was sore from bringing so many in and you caught a lot more than I did!

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.
