Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

D&R Sports Center has an online special for email subscribers for Quantum Reels.  Prices a little higher.  I think you have to order online, but...the sale lasts a little longer than Cabelas.

Erie,
Thanks for the heads up!! Great price on the tour edition. I needed a baitcast in the worst way. Didn't look like they had many left. They were down to one model.

Well, I bought one of the Tour Editions. It goes back to Cabela's tomorrow. I spent the better part of two trips trying to dial this baitcaster in with no luck. (I had the same problems with the Quantum PT a few years ago)  Cabela's supplies a return UPS label so the only cost for me will be the initial shipping.
I'll be picking up a new baitcaster in the next few days. Any suggestions?

DD,
I can't say enough about the Pflueger Trion for the price: (@ Cabelas - BPS doesn't seem to carry them)

I was a big Curado fan until they started gouging prices back in '06.  I owned a couple of Chronarchs I would use for lightweight crankbaits and topwaters.  The Trion has become my mainstay for light baits.

Havent had a problem yet with Quantum b.c.'s yet. Been running accurists and kvd's. Had a pfluger president i think it was and had nothing but problems with it, tried a different one and had same probs dialing it in. The funny thing is both came from Gander Mountian. So I am sticking with buying my reels @ Bass Pro. I tried to get them to match the price on the b.c's on sale and they wouldn't do it because it was a sale price and to big of a difference. Besides all they had left was a burner 7.1.1. Got that in a kvd already lol.

This year I have picked up several Diawa Excelers, mainly spinning reels but one casting. For $69 they are pretty darned good of you are trying to not break the bank. The only places I have found them are Bait and Hook in Fort Wayne, IN and Lakeside Tackle in SCS or online. If you are buying online remember [REMOVED - see No Links Policy List] has free shipping on orders over $50.

I been switching out my curados for chronarch 50mg's on paticular setups and absolutly love them. They cast like a dream and weigh 5.9 oz, the $250 price tag is steep but you can find power sellers on ebay who will sell you new ones for $180-200 shipped. These reels have made a big difference for me this year and they are worth every penny in my opinion. Match it with a high quality light rod and your fishing with a setup that weighs less than 10oz. It makes jerkin for 8 hours with a baitcaster less tiring and casts light baits a mile, considerably further than my curados did.

FISH HARD!!!

If you are considering buying online, please check out the affiliates board below. I have a link for the Quantums in particular there right now. THANKS!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
