Inland Waterway Bass Fishing Closure Defeated

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Aw mannnnnn... do I want to hear about someone slamming bass while I'm at home working on websites and goberment-type stuff... whine.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Don't worry... The bass shut down on Sunday... We only caught 115 LM.  :o They were turned off.  ::)

We caught over 150 today... Got so cold that the line was freezing up in the reels and eyelets. We would have caught over 250 if we could have stayed. We left when we were catching bass every cast.  :o

4-5 trips we have caught over 1,100lbs of bass.... Biggest so far was 5lb 13oz.... The big fish have not even schooled up yet.... Coming soon.  :)

Stupid tube was on fire... We fished other baits and these were the ticket once again.

Your my hero.  My neighbor sent me some photos of my house.  Looks like winter has returned.  Post some photos so I remember what that place looks like.

I've had the fever in the back of my mind for a few weeks now... It is strong at times on many days! I've seen pictures already of bass anglers who've been out recently in Michigan and are catching some bass!! Soon... but maybe not until after I get back from the Classic. Maybe I'll try the 'Stupid' tube? Not sure I have a jighead that will work real well with it though? I'll have to look through my arsenal and molds.

Come to the swap meet and get some stupid tube jigs.... They are special hooks/sizes, Weights.

I'd like to but I have a different fever now... from someone sharing an unwanted something with me at Outdoorama. Pretty sure no one wants me coughing on them.

I actually might have a jighead mold that might work somewhat well for this technique. I'll just have to see if I have any of the correct hooks for that mold. Probably not ideal, but if it doesn't work for me I guess I know how to find you. :)
