I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I'm thinking about changing my boat insurance from Boat Us to Progressive. When I compare apples to apples between the two, Progressive saves me over a hundred dollars. What insurance do  most of you have? I've got a 1997 Astro Bass Boat and Boat U.s. wants $292.00 a year. Progressive wants $182.00. Give me a little help, please???

WORLD WIDE MARINE YOU HAVE TO CHECK THEM OUT.
Remember you don't quit fishing when you get old, you get old when you quit fishing

stack is right!!!  They are the only agency that I recomend.  They handle several different insurance carriers, including Progressive.  The difference is that with them, is that you have an agent to back you up.  Give them a call and ask for Greg or Bob (800-339-1235).  You will want to deal with them after talking to one of the agents.

+3 for Worldwide Marine Underwriters. It's really nice to be able to talk to someone who actually understands why you carry 15 rods; 50 lbs. of crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, and plastics; 4 (or 5) batteries; $3,0000+ worth of electronics; and all powered by a 225-250 HP outboard (and no, it's not a race boat).

Thank You very much. I will give them a call.

Personally I have mine under my homeowners. It is relatively inexpensive and offers the same liability coverage as my house. On top of that it doesn't add another payment to be concerned about.

If it's not too late to vote, I'll go +4 for World Wide Marine.

Bob is awesome.  I unfortunately had to make him earn his money last summer and he more than came through.

You can get the same coverage through Bob at Worldwide Marine Underwriters, but Bob will work to get you better coverage for the same or less money quite often because his expertise in marine insurance means he knows how to get you discounts the insurance companies directly often don't even ask you.

Bob will also find out where and how you fish, and with what so you will not have any surprises later if you need the coverage. I find that some boaters think they are fully covered only to be unpleasantly surprised later when they find out all of their equipment in the boat isn't covered, or at least not fully replaceable, or they are not covered on the Great Lakes, or if they do suffer a complete loss, they lose money because their boat is not covered for replacement - all things (and more) that Bob will ask.

As far as covering your boat under homeowners, check extremely carefully about what losses and materials are covered and not. In the past, homeowners would not cover many things that happen away from the home, certain losses, and excessive equipment were not covered. The Great Lakes were not covered (coastal waters). I looked at the early on and after asking an agent what was not covered, I quickly found it would not work for me. Always ask what is not covered.

Bob can answer all of these types of questions and will gladly do so for anyone. He will tell you, based on your situation if your coverage will work, and if he can get you more for the same or less. His knowledge will help anyone be more protected - our boats and our equipment are so important to us and such a huge investment, calling Bob at Worldwide Marine Underwriters is a tiny price to pay to protect that investment.

That is why I am happy to have his expertise available to all of us. At last count, WWM represented 27 different insurance companies.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
