I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Dear Friends of Veterans, February 17th, 2008

The Brain Injury Association of Michigan Veterans Program is proud to announce the 2nd Annual
"Tips-up for the Troops" Charity Bass Tournament.
This special event is confirmed for Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at Kent Lake, Kensington Metropark, Brighton, Michigan. The pro-am style bass fishing tournament will provide a fun filled day on the water for some of our veterans that have sacrificed so much for our freedom. We would like to field at least 50 boats, with the boater (Pro) and a veteran (Am) fishing as a team. If you know a boater, a veteran, or someone that may like to support this event as a sponsor or volunteer, please have them e-mail me at: veterans@biami.org. Please register early as it is a first come, first serve registration. We would like to fill out the field so we can establish the number of veteran's to fish without disappointing anyone and leaving someone out.
There is plenty of parking at the facility to make this a complete family event as we have a large pavilion and play area reserved in addition to the West Ramp facilities. There will be activities all day long for those staying on shore. We'll have 2K and 5K walks and bike rides through the beautiful nature areas of the park. If you want, there will be tours out to their wonderful "Farm Center" to see a real farm in action. You can play softball, go fishing, hit the beach area, or visit the slides, swings and tons of other fun stuff planned all day long. Of course a day like this deserves a classic All-American B-B-Q following the weigh-in show.
We need sponsors for our picnic and sponsorship of the event. The overall goal is to have the entire day free to the participants and their families. Park entrance stickers are required for entrance for all visitors, but don't let that stop you from joining us. Event volunteers are needed to help with every aspect from planning and set-up to clean-up.
We would like to get some nice prizes for the event and get some sponsors on board also, so if you know a business owner try to get a prize donated, i.e.: Gift Certificates – Hotels weekend stay for 2; Golf for 4; A dozen roses; Dinner for two; Jewelry; Spa treatment; etc. Cash donations will go to the Brain Injury Association of Michigan's Veteran Program to help with their Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) veteran's programs.
Please feel free to call if you have any questions about veterans, Traumatic Brain Injury, or the event.

Sincerely,

Rick Briggs

Another example of our short, crowded season being challenging. Barry we have our state youth championship that same day on Lake Nepessing so we are working to get boaters to volunteer that day already for the kids. Hopefully, there's enough helpful volunteers to go around.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Currently serving and will be happy to accomodate vets in my boat.  I have a couple of other servicemembers in mind that are boaters.  I'll talk to them as well.
