Thats fine, i like largemouth fishing better anyways ;D As long as the wind doesnt blow that hard, and people can get to islands it shouldnt be bad at all.

thedude

i agree. there were some nice largies to be caught in the bay. we had some in practice... but spending 2 days of tourney time with out so much as a bite.. man that leaves a bad taste in your mouth!

As shallow and dark as the back of the bay is, i bet it will be killer in april.. we were there in oct!

There are a couple of marinas just down from Dempsey's that are good in the spring, the Cedar Point break wall, the break wall in front of the Sandusky Bay City Launch is always good, especially the chute, and if all else fails, you can go out through Johnsons Island and head to East Harbour and fish some marinas there. Sandusky Bay has been a muddy mess for quite a few years now, average depth outside of the shipping channel is only abou 5'. Hopefully the weather cooperates so you can get out of the Bay, if not it could be a long day. I forgot to mention the quarry at Johnsons Island is probably the cleanest water and holds some good fish also. We have our OBF Region 2 tournament out of West Harbour that weekend so, yeah I'm hoping for good weather also.

thedude

yep - that quarry won the tourney when we were there... we had some good fish in east harbor, but 12 footers on erie kept us from getting out..

it was so bad that weekend, we had 4'-6' waves IN the bay... the island/breakwall in front of the ramp just had a circle of 50 boats working around it clockwise.... it was a bummer!
