Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I have the opportunity to purchase a very lightly used unit from a friend (I've fished in his boat and used this unit a little bit) at a GREAT price.  My questions for anyone who's used one is about the GPS reception and what chips you have used.  I'm told that if you tilt them too much the internal antenna units can lose signal.  Also, I have the Navionics gold chip... on my H2Oc handheld I can only zoom down to 1/8th of a mile.  That's a LONG ways on the water.  Will the 522 zoom in closer?  I believe it will... but I'm not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have th older internal gps model,334c.  I've never had an issue with reception, I have mine on the side of the console with no obstructions.  I have the lakemaster MI chip.  It's worthless on the H2O but much better on the 334c, you can actually see the map.  I think it zooms in farther because I've never noticed the map dissappearing like on the H2O.

Yeah, as I understand it the 522 is the replacement for the 334.  The 522 is the internal model, the 527 is the external.
