var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true}; I don't have the full story yet but I wanted to share the great news now that GreatLakesBass.com member Steve Clapper was recently inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Longtime friend Larry Nixon traveled to a ceremony in Ohio to give Steve Clapper his HOF induction plaque.

Congratulations to Steve Clapper, a very much deserved reward for all his hard and innovative work in fishing and boating the Great Lakes, and finding and catching those big smallmouth bass!

My first BFL as a co-angler,  which happened to be my first bass tournament.  I was standing in a trailer that sold baits.   Mr Clapper was in there and had 2 big bags of Erie Darters.  I had no idea who he was at the time.  I asked his opinion on what to buy.  He took me around the trailer and explained which tube or bait would work.  I have been a big fan of his ever since.
