I don't have the full story yet but I wanted to share the great news now that GreatLakesBass.com member Steve Clapper was recently inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Longtime friend Larry Nixon traveled to a ceremony in Ohio to give Steve Clapper his HOF induction plaque.
Congratulations to Steve Clapper, a very much deserved reward for all his hard and innovative work in fishing and boating the Great Lakes, and finding and catching those big smallmouth bass!
Congratulations Steve, you deserve it. Phil
My first BFL as a co-angler, which happened to be my first bass tournament. I was standing in a trailer that sold baits. Mr Clapper was in there and had 2 big bags of Erie Darters. I had no idea who he was at the time. I asked his opinion on what to buy. He took me around the trailer and explained which tube or bait would work. I have been a big fan of his ever since.
Nice story!
Congratulations Steve. You are a true legend. I have always been inspired by you. You have inspired so many anglers. You have always been willing to help and talk to everyone. I am proud to have you as a friend.
thanks
