Probably better to wait to the spring when we are all thinking of getting out.
Couple things to do now:
Stop by the Novi Fishing show and meet people at the booth.
Also there is a spring paper tournament this group does on St. Clair and that is a great way to meet the guys on the forum. We match boaters to non-boaters up to fish. You'll see signups start in a few months.

What?  People read these forums?  I've been known to read one now and then but I thought I was the only one!   

As they said... come fish the MadWags in May.  Fun time.  We have a picnic afterwards and there's often an opportunity to go back out for some more fishing in the afternoon.

You might consider joining a bass club and fishing the TBF State Championship on Cadilac/Mitchell in July as a co-angler.  I know there is a post on this site somewhere about it.
