Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I got out twice on LSC.  Friday was cloudy water and jerkbaits reigned supreme.  Sunday was dropshot all day.  Both awesome days on the mile roads with good company!

Sunday at a park off anchor bay I was throwing a lipless albino craw for bass and pulled out two 25 inch musky and a 36 inch pike. No bass. Sunday got a boat out on Stony Creek lake and managed only five 2lb largemouths in 3 hrs. All on a kvd 1.5 black back chartreuse.

I caught a lot of grief from my buddies for my poor performance on Lobdell this past Saturday...just couldn't figure that lake out.  Then on Monday I caught 5 nice smallies and 28 silver bass in 3 hours on St. Clair.  Went 15 fish for 15 casts with the silvers at one point, but that's not much of an accomplishment given the fact that you can practically catch them on a bare hook when they are schooled up.

Had a blast fishing Long & Grand lakes in Alpena on Friday-Sunday & fished the Mega Bass tourney on Sunday. Caught a lot of smallies on both lakes, mostly on jerks, square bills, spinnerbaits, plastics for the fish that have moved on beds, & also got a few on topwater. Water temps were 57-62 while we were there. Everyone caught their 7 fish during the tourney, winning weight was around 24 pounds, the biggest fish went a little over 4 pounds. We probably caught 35 fish on Sunday, mostly 2 pounders. When we did decide to target some beds, we caught are 2 biggest (3 lbers). We should have bed fished all day but had fun with the reaction bites. Long Lake is a blast to fish but if you've fished it or watched MLF you know that the lake is filled with a bunch of 2-3 pounders. In fact, the last few tourneys I've fished, no one has gotten a fish 5 lbs or better. I did get a 5 pounder on Grand Lake while blind casting a weighted senko.

Got Fish??

I fished Kent Lake. It was nice and peaceful no jetskis or waterskiers.  We put 8 fish in the boat and had  a picnic.

I caught a decent number of small bass, and one wicked sunburn! !!!

Fished the OBM Kent lake open on Sunday and caught lots of fish but not the size needed.
Then I helped a guy fix the electronics on his boat in Milford and he offered to take us out after on his little pond behind his house. Must have caught 100 fish in a couple hours. Stupid, non-pressured large mouth. Fun day to end the holiday weekend.
