Just wondering what everyone uses to cover their boat when docking/mooring. I have a Ranger travel/storage cover but not sure how that would work on the lake with the rachets. Does Ranger sell a docking/mooring cover. Or any suggestions.Thx

I bought a general purpose cover.  I bought it at Pep Boys and it's the same one Bass Pro Shops for over $200.  It cost me under $70.  Shop around and sometimes you can find what I have.  My cover is more for trailering but I guess I could use it for mooring.   It doesn't have elastic to snug to the boat.  You would be surprised where you can find these things besides Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas.  Good luck and I'll keep my eyes peeled for you as I am always looking for "stuff" for the boat.

I have seen alot at different stores that have them. But nothing I can just throw on at the dock overnight if its gonna rain. I guess i'm looking for something with elastic or that maybe ties at the side? I could probably make the travel cover work. Most that i've seen have the tie downs that hook to the trailer.

I've used my Ranger cover for mooring while on vacation. I don't use the ratchets when I do though. Run a bungee cord (with the plastic hooks) from the loop closest to the dock, through the the loop furthest from the dock and then hook it to the U-Bolt closest to the dock. When you go out in the morning, just unhook the U-Bolt and go.  It's not as tight as ratcheting it down, but it keeps it secure and everything stays dry. The bungee strap rests on the underside of the cowling and run the dock lines to the U-bolts to keep things from rubbing.

That actually sounds pretty good. And it will save me from getting another cover I dont need. Thx

I use my ratchets.  Doesn't seem to hurt a thing.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to use the rachets just thought it might be hard to get them hooked up.

I spent the money and had a custom cover made with snaps. It has a draw string. Stays on vary nicely. Heavy canvas and water proof. One of the better investments I  made for my boat. I hit it with silicone spray every two years. This keeps  the cover from sun fade and water proof. I have two snap in poles on the in side of the canvas.

Nope, it's actually real easy.
