Elizabeth Park

I was reading today on another forum's history that Elizabeth Park doesn't open until April 1st...Is that true??? I tried to find some information on the web and I couldn't find a specific opening date...I guess I could call the lighthouse bait shoppe......It has been a few years since I have been down there (about 7... really).
Are there any launches along the Detroit river that don't get quite as busy in the spring....I know the FLW has a tournamnet out of there on the 31st of March.  and then the pro Walleye guys take off out of there the weekend after that...So Elizabeth park is going to be hammered the first couple weekends of April.

The boat launch in wyondotte is were we always put in at and its never realy busy the bait shop were we get our minnows is in river rouge wich is just down the foad a couple miles from the ramp.
