cabin fever
« on: March 11, 2013, 09:19:46 PM »

Well after yesterday's  beautiful  weather, I have a terrible case of cabin fever.  I have spooled rods and made a few practice  pitches, and now I need to fish before I explode.

I'll be out panfishing with the grandkids as soon as the ice goes away.

I"ve been spending a lot of time the last couple of weeks using the computer to pre fish.  I've got my paper maps, my electronic maps, the DNR maps, google Earth, Bng maps, and Humminbird PC.  I've been doing a lot of pre season scouting.  I know which bodies of water we're fishing with my club this year.  Some of it's new to me.
So, I've been finding places that the satellite shows that the maps don't.
Deep water docks, sand bars, lay downs, stumps.
Using the paper maps to understand the satellite more.
Entering way points using HumminbirdPC, and then downloading them into my units.

I'm not sure it helps cabin fever. Maybe it does.  But it does give me a different perspective on where to fish this year.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I was on Belleville Lake this past Sunday... I couldn't wait any longer.. I could only make it to behind the big island due to ice... I launched from Rawsonville rd... trying to make it into town... I think it may hold me over for a week or two...lol
