Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Hey djmaclf,

Did Harry Bracken pass away???  I saw him on Father's Day 2006 when my daughter and I fished the Father/Daughter Tournament on Thompson Lake.  I had not seen him in a very long time and didn't know he had become ill.

Also, is AVID going to have the annual Father/Daughter Tournament again on Thompson??  It was really fun last year and a lot of teams weighed fish.

BigDog,

Harry Bracken passed away in mid August. My wife and I and one of my daughters attended the service on August 16 and I think the funeral was the following day. He had been ill for quite some time.

I would like to believe that his son George will continue the tradition. I have fished in them with all of my daughters over the last 6 years and it is always a special day for us, one of the best of the summer. We look forward to it every year.

Willie
Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

BigDog,  As Hooksetter stated Harry did pass away back in August.  He will be greatly missed by all.

The Father/Daughter tournament was not one of our club functions.  I do have a club meeting on Sunday and I can bring that up as a possibility, George is still a member as well, so I will let you know what I find out.

We will also be having the Harry Bracken Memorial on the Halfmoon Chain again this year.  It is scheduled for 10/07/07.  Still waiting on the permit to make it official.

Thanks for the info fellas.  Harry was a great guy.  When I saw him at Thompson he was riding that little electric vehicle so that he could get around.  It was great to talk to him.  I will miss him.   :'(  He was a great guy and an asset to this areas local bassfishing industry.

As far as the Father/Daughter Tournament, Carl Stencil was the one who told me about that tournament.  He told me he had fished it with his daughter.  I finally showed up last year and my daughter and we had a great time.  Carl was in my NBAA Division for the last couple of years teamed with Jeff Kurtz.  Matter of fact, that Dodge Magnum that Jeff's wife now drives, he got through me on my corporate discount.  Since DCX gives us two control numbers a year, I had given Jeff one last January and he bought the car for what I get the car for.  Is Jeff a member of your club??  I know he lives out around Brighton as does Carl.

Talked it over with George and the club.  The Father/Daughter father's Day tournament will be on Thompson lake again this year.  It will not be one of our club tournaments, however some of the club members will be running the tournament.
