This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

I am building a enclosed rod holder for the garage, but I am not sure how to secure the tops of the rods. Has anyone done this before? See photos.

Thanks,
Mark

looks like you need to cut a square pice of plywood with 9 holes install it about 5 1/2 ft up and put them in tip first you cal glue velvet into the holes to protect the rods.

Try something like this and put some rubber tubing on the arms to avoid ware and tare on the rods

The first thing that came to my mind was using some small diameter PVC pipe cut to size and secured at the top...

I'm thinking some creative engineering with clothespins would work well, or perhaps the metal binder clips for paper with some tape on them to soften the surface and not scratch the rods.

I am trying Roy's idea, I purchased some of these clips from Grainger and will install them tonight.
I will install these clips to a piece of oak extending out from the center of the box with 4 on one side and 5 on the other. This will allow me to set the handle in 1st, then clip the rod in 2nd. I should be done once the hinges that I ordered come in.

Thanks for all of your ideas....

Hey - let us know how the AFTER looks and how it works. Might be the start of a new 'do it yourself' feature ;D !!!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
