This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Mark Zona presents Giant Smallmouth Techniques, the seminar Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2PM on Lake Ultimate at the Ultimate Fishing Show DetroitThis unique Lake Ultimate event taking place today, Friday evening at the Ultimate Fishing Show Detroit will showcase Mark Zona in his element. Anyone who has ever seen Mark speak before, knows that he is very entertaining! When you pair that with a timed two person competition to see who can catch the biggest trout out of Lake Ultimate, this promises to be one of the most entertaining features we have ever had at the Ultimate Fishing Show!

The Ultimate Fishing Tournament begins on Lake Ultimate at 6PM.

You must also catch the ZONA's Awesome Fishing Show host's Giant Smallmouth Techniques seminar at 2PM, also on Lake Ultimate today, Friday, January 11!

This was a very fun event at a fun-filled show. I ended up in 3rd place on only somewhat of a letdown (Z told me he was introducing me as the 'Tom Brady' of Lake Ultimate!!! ;D).

After the fun, Z stopped by the GreatLakesBass.com booth for a few minutes to talk and get some pictures. If you don't want it yet, make sure you find ZONA's Awesome Fishing Show on the Outdoor Channel with my favorite host Mark Zona!

Mark Zona hangs out at the GreatLakesBass.com
booth with me (L) and mikesmiph on the right!
The energy level in the booth maxed out for a short
time!
