This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

hey Dan, do you know if anyone has expressed interest in starting a tbf club in the Sanford/Wixom area?

djkimmel

Not yet - the closest so far will probably be the Flint area. I hope to have more information within a couple weeks.

If worse comes to worse, you can join my club and then transfer once another club forms (if you don't want to start one yourself?).

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

What's it take to start a club? Can it be a paper club?
"Not in the clamor of the crowded streets nor in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but within oneself lies victory or defeat."

How you run your club is completely up to the club members. You just need 6 members who individually join FLW Outdoors, and pay $30 before December 10, 2006 to cover state and national TBF dues, or $40 per member after December 10 to cover state and national TBF dues. We will be encouraging youth and conservation activities, but that will be up to each club.

There are links on the national TBF, Inc site - for sample bylaws (you can get there from our Michigan TBF site) and a Michigan roster form on our Michigan TBF site you can fill out and send back with your dues.
