I would like to know how to catch smallies when it is dead calm out on the lake I fish lake St.Clair most of the time when it is windy getting smallies to bite is not a problem but when faced with dead calm table top flat lake and throw in the sun it gets down right tough I have watched many weigh-ins online and see a lot of pros bring big bags of small mouth to the scales on the calm days ,So I know it can be done . So how do they do it ???

I know what you mean.  But I think on calm days, the key is to either keep moving (which the wind does for you on breezy days) or fish very specific structure.  Myself, if I can get around current on calm days, I'd prefer to do that.  One of the advantages to fishing the South Shore for instance is that there is always current there even on dead calm days.  Or get up in the channels.  The channels have been fishing real strong lately for me.

Sightfish them if the water is clear enough. I think there is another thread on this same subject on the forum that I read just yesterday with many suggestions.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
