Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

 Hey everyone if your still looking for a good club to fish this year.  Here is the schedule of one of the clubs I'm a part of. Its a good group of anglers and we have a great time! The price is $50 a boat that includes big bass.
              June 2   6am-2pm   Lake Fenton
              June 16  6am-2pm   Lobdell
              July 1     6am-2pm   Upper Crooked
              July 14   6am-2pm   Fremont
              July 28   6am-2pm   Muskegon (Fishermans Landing)
              July 29   6am-2pm   White      (Water st)
              Aug 18   6am-2pm   Wixom
              Aug 19   7am-3pm   Sanford
              Aug 26   7am-3pm   Mecosta
              Sept 9    7am-3pm   Kent (West)
Classic    Sept 22-23     7am-3pm      Burt-Mullet

Hey guys thanks for the questions. There is a membership fee, its $20 for a family (brothers, father/son, mother/daughter,husband/wife) or $15 per individual. Last year we had 15 boats make the classic, we had on average 12 boats per tournament.

If you're interested in joining or are just going to come out and want to fish a few, give Ross a call before the tourney and you can take care of the membership fee before take off. Ross Phillips (517)230-6849
