Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

On Board Charging System

Looking for someone to join a package deal for an onboard charging system. For years, I've fished with a buddy that had a Stealth Charging System (http://www.stealth1charging.com/ ) and when we would go to St. Clair and Erie he'd never need to charge his batteries. The onboard charge as you go system kept his battery topped off. Keeping the batteries from getting too depleted also maximizes their life.
I'm now in the market for an onboard charging system and have told myself that when that time came I would buy a Stealth (KVD has one). I have met the owner and so when I called him today, he told me what he had. (I had a buddy who may need a system because he's buying a used boat and doesn't know if the onboard charger works so he asked me to check for him as well) Long story short Danny, the owner, said he could cut me a deal if we bought two systems. He'd sell us his Max Pak for $400  and would add his newest product which includes a switch in case you ever were to lose power in your starting battery. By flipping the switch, (no wires to unhook and no need for jumper cables, etc. and you would draw power from all three batteries. He would add that $89 add on for $50.
I know you can get units cheaper by about a $100 but I have witnessed the customer service Danny provides first hand. Once at a Regional BFL at Cherokee Lake, he drove 5 hours one way to come and straighten out a problem we had with the charging system. I have also seen him spend more than an hour on the phone helping to solve issues we had. My buddy isn't ready today to commit until he finally gets his boat, however I want to get my order in now so they can get it built and shipped to me. Looking at a 7 day wait right now. If somebody out there needs an onboard charger and wants to join me in a package deal we can save almost $200 over full retail. One way or another I'm ordering soon so let me know.

I have been thinking about getting one of these for years.  Thanks for posting the link to the website.  I'll look into purchasing one.  Sounds like a great investment.

I have seen the owner of the company spend two hours working my partner through a problem on the phone, step by step until midnight so we could get on the water the next morning. He also got his son out of school and drove 5 hours to bring us a unit when we were at Cherokee Lake at a BFL regional. He even crawled in the boat and installed it. He really stands behind his equipment! He sometimes has deals on reconditioned units, but didn't have any at this time so he was going to work a deal with me if my ex fishing partner got one as well. Me ex partner had one in his Bass Cat. Came when he ordered the boat. He has always thought highly of the system and is getting a new used boat and is waiting to see how the charger works in that boat before ordering, but I need one now. Another guy I know is having me call tomorrow for a quote on a 36 volt system. I have a 24 volt.
