Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

From TBF of Michigan president Dave Reault:

Our April Presidents meeting is coming up soon. The meeting is scheduled for11:00, Sunday April 15th, at Bass Pro Shops in Auburn Hills. For those clubs that have not sent in your rosters and dues please bring them to the meeting. The dues are $75.00 total for TBF, TBF of Michigan and FLW Outdoors. If you need to find a club you can contact Matt Belletini- info@saginawbaybass.com, Dennis Beltz- dbeltz4@gmail.com, myself- Dave@century21row.com or any of the other Directors.

Make sure you stop by and like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/TBFofMichigan. We've also updated our official web site http://www.michigantbf.com. Both sites have seen big improvements and we've tried to use them to help communicate information.

The Bass Federation National Championship is being held this week with Marc Snyder of St. Johns and Matt Grey of Michigan representing Michigan.

Our 2012 State Championship will be July 15th on Lake St.Clair.

Our Junior Championship will be held on June 9th at Pontiac Lake. We will need volunteers with boats so keep the date available and contact Brian Belevender with your commitment BBelevender@yahoo.com.

TBF National has partnered with FLW Outdoors for High School Fishing and the High School State Championship will be held on Lake St.Clair, contact Jeff Cox for more information JCox7Fishing@yahoo.com.
