I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Planning a trip for next weekend and would love some expert opinions. I was set on Fletcher's but there isn't really anything for kids to do in Alpena. Then I set my sights on Burt which has a huge waterpark close by in Mackinaw City, but I heard fishing is tough this time of year. Finally after searching around on the site it looks like in and around Traverse City could be an option...waterpark at Boyne Mountain. My biggest issue is I need a place that rents fishing boats w/ motor. I live in Grand Ledge and would like to keep it within a 3 1/2, 4 hour drive. Anyone have a tip on a great bass/pike lake that rents boats?

Thanks!!!

Seems to be getting more rare these days. Lots of places on Houghton Lake probably still rent or provide small boats and/or motors. Not sure about any of the marinas on the Torch River? I think there was one or two that still did recently. Look up the Torch River Marina and give them a call.

Probably if you contact any major marina on the larger lakes, they will know who still rents boats/motors. That's what I usually do.

Good luck. Fishing time is precious.

Last I knew u can rent a jon boat with motor for around fifty bucks a day at fletchers pond

gbaade

Yeah, Fletchers and Burt both rent fishing boats w/ motor. Just was wondering if anyone knew of any other places.

I see a few boats sitting out at sleepy hollow (lake ovid) are they rentable?

Dan

I believe you can get cabins with a boat on Hamlin lake. If you go to our teardropbass.com webpage you might call Dennis Cook the tournament director. He lives near the lake and may know of a number to call.

Lots to do in Ludington. Good food, plenty of kid things to do, and Hamlin is a great fishing lake. You can also drop the kids at the dunes and fish just off shore along the dunes and watch them. Good fishing on the drop along the dunes on upper Hamlin.

You can rent pontoons on Lake Ovid (can't remember if they still have boats) by stopping at Don's Party Store on the way to the lake. They used to rent boats for Round Lake too behind the party store off of Round Lake Road. I imagine they still do.
