I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I am looking at a boat with a F225 (four stroke) that the guy says "had a valve break at 360 hours" and am curious who could fix it and or if it is worth the trouble.  For the price of the boat I almost don't mind the cost of the rebuild if it came to it but don't know where to turn since I have a Merc on my Champion...

Any advice and information is appreciated as always!

p.s. I'm not trying to start another US v. foreign debate with my question here, sorry.

I agree with both of them. 360 hours seems like a lot on an engine though so you might want to have the rest of it looked at first before you buy it, just my 2 cents.

From the information I've been given by multiple marinas/dealers is that that 4 stroke should perform for 4000-5000 hours.

No doubt about that, they are good engines! I was just saying if it was used that much anything could be wrong with it and an engine is not cheap to repair.
